No. 9 Park, 9 Park St., Boston: Free yummy bar snacks including homemade potato chips topped with crème fraîche and caviar and
gougères (Wikipedia says a
gougère is French cuisine, "a savory choux pastry with cheese.")
I hate to admit this, but I have never been to No. 9 Park. People argue that it's the best restaurant in Boston, but on my small salary I have yet to splurge and go. However now that I am aware of the free bar bites you may see me on a stool with a dirty martini VERY soon!
BanQ, 1375 Washington St.: Mojito Madness, Thursdays from 8 p.m.-1 a.m., BanQ serves $5 mojitos and complimentary bites. There's also a new $5 bar bites menu,
served every day from 5-10:30 p.m. Options include; a seared spicy scallop on a Malay salad, Indian spiced fried onion rings, sweet potato fries with sweet chickpea dip, cauliflower fritters, and lamb spring rolls.
BanQ's decor alone should get you in the door, this is one of the coolest new restaurants in the South End!
Vox Populi, 755 Boylston St., Boston: Seven days a week, 4-6 p.m. $2 bar bites menu
Menu includes:
oyster shooters, Asian wings, an artisanal cheese plate, portobello caprese, and kobe meatballs. They are also offering "Best for Less" wines, two signature wines at discounted prices.
I love that Vox is running this special on Saturdays and Sundays as well!
Aquitaine, 569 Tremont St., Boston: Sunday-Thursday, 5:30-6:30 p.m., Aquitaine offers complimentary hors d'oeuvres and $5 vintage cocktails.
Boston Magazine says cocktails called the Americano (sweet vermouth, campari, and soda water), and the Blackberry Bramble (gin, black currant liqueur, and fresh lime juice) are excellent. Aquitane also offers a carafe of Beaujolais and two appetizers for just $26

Aquitane HH= D. Similar to the bar itself, the bar bites were minuscule. the bartender was too intrusive and the drinks were few and bitter
The Savant Project, 1625 Tremont St., Brookline: Afternoon Delight: 7 Days a week 2:30-6PM, half priced tapas with drink purchase.
I love that The Savant project offers this special 7-days a week! I'm going to try and go some lazy Sunday afternoon soon! Has anyone had the Tapas there? How are they?

My good good friend Jaime Miskell went here for New Year's Eve and raved about the sushi!! I LOVE that most of the specials start at 7 pm and go until 12 am (when they close) way to help Bostonians BUST up the recession HARU--Thank You!
The Met Club, 1210 Boylston St, Newton, MA : $20 Flat Bread Sunday dinners, a three-course prix fixe meal of salad, flat bread and dessert for just $20
You don't see too many prix fixe dinners on this blog because (obviously), it's a blog dedicated to happy hour, and in the vein I don't like to post things that cost more than say, $10. But this Prix Fixe, 3 course meal deal, is only $20!!! So I had to make an exception (I did this as well with the AShmont Grill's Wine Club which is only $30 for a a 3-course meal and wine).
Rocca, 500 Harrison Ave.,Boston: "Sunday Supper" $22 gets you 2 courses and a sweet.Rocca is fantastic. I went here for Restaurant Week last year with all my girlfriends and we had a blast. I enjoyed the flank steak the time we went. I'm not sure what's on the Sunday Supper menu, but I'm sure you will get your $22 worth.
An Tua Nua, 835 Beacon St: $3 and $4 appetizerss from 5 pm-7 pm, Miller Lite drafts are $2.50I've been here to go dancing in my more hard-core "going out days." If you go here on a Saturday night it's filled with college-age types. But I would think that a week-day after work this might be a good deal, cheap ML's and apps and maybe a little karaoke anyone?? And supposedly they offer this deal EVERY night of the week...but don't take my word for it, you may need to call first!
Daisy Buchanan’s, 240 Newbury St., Boston: $2 to $4 bar menu, Sunday through Thursday from 3 to 7 pm.
Have yet to eat at this bar, but have drank there on many occasion. Daisy B's is a great place to bump into Red Sox players relaxing on a summer night!
The Lower Depths, 476 Commonwealth Ave, Boston, MA: $1 hotdogs all the time, with all kinds of fixings, for only $1 more!Approaching Kenmore Square before you get to BU and the Fenway Park area, the Lower Depths is, well, a bar below ground! Any day of the week at any time you can get a basic all-beef hot dog on a buttered toasted bun, replete with standard condiments. And if you're feeling extra flush, toppings (including, bacon, cheese, chili or jalepeno) are only $1.
Grendel's Den, 89 Winthrop St Cambridge: The whole menu is half price before 7:30 Sunday through Thursday. Half-Price hours are from 5:00 pm til 7:30 pm every evening and from 9:00 pm til 11:30 pm Sunday - Thursday. The Bleacher Bar, 4 Yawkey Way: $1 sliders on Sunday nights and $4 burgers on Monday nightsbleacherbarboston.comCheck out this bar below Fenway Park on Sunday nights. It's a fun place to be even in the off season. The sliders are delicious! Try the fried pickles as well, they are not a dollar, but are too good to not splurge. On Sunday nights they have indoor Cornhole, a game you may have played at a backyard BBQ, it's pretty simple, toss the bean bag into the hole, just try not to hit the ceiling.
